s3 Communications is a solutions based company, specialising in Unified Communications, Hosted Telephony, Microsoft 365 and Cloud based consultancy.

Born out of 40 years of collective technical IT experience our team are focussed on making the transition to the Cloud painless and as streamlined as possible, taking the challenge away from the client and delivering them the end result, a Cloud based solution.

We manage all aspects of the transition to the Cloud, inclusive of planning, project management, migration and then the ongoing management.

As technology changes we have chosen a set of products, which are tried and tested to deliver results. We have a fully hosted and managed Cloud Telephony & Unified Communication system, which delivers a rich functionality set, flexible working, scaleable, future proof, providing business continuity under a monthly subscription. 

In addition to this we have integration into Microsoft Teams and also deliver solutions around Microsoft 365.

In a nutshell, we are a one stop shop for Hosted Telephony, Unified Communications and Video conferencing and Cloud based email and hosted desktop.

Phone2Teams is a Microsoft 365 integration that connects Microsoft Teams to any IP phone system. This allows users to make and receive calls on the Teams App using the same lines as your current phone system.

FAQs

When should I switch to Hosted VoIP/UC?

If your current contract is due to end within the next 6 months, this is the perfect time for your business to prepare to migrate before the ISDN switch off in 2025.

How much should I budget for IT/UC?

To give you an idea, a solid business will spend 3.5%-5% of annual turnover on IT. Your budget should include: licensing renewals, services, software and handsets / headsets.

 

Am I getting a good deal from my current provider?

Challenge

With their existing telephony system contract coming to an end which they discovered had originally been mis sold under an extremely long contract they also suffered from poor customer service. The client wanted a new system that provided a rich feature set and functionality backed by excellent customer service.

Solution

We worked closely to understand their requirements and exactly what they wanted to be able to achieve through their new system. Once we were totally confident that we understood their business priorities we set to work on their customised solution.

We deployed a cloud IP-PBX system, handsets were installed at their main office and access outside the main office used by the Web Client and mobile app. Free internal calls between their office and remote locations whilst reducing national and international call costs. Associated queues were also set out with defined rules controlling the path of calls coming into the business to make communication run smoothly.

The Challenge

With their existing telephony system contract coming to an end system migration to their own independent hosted cloud based VoIP PBX with increased functionality whilst cutting costs.

The Solution

A cloud PBX was deployed for the customer, based on a set of pre-defined requirements with new handsets deployed throughout the main office and factory.

Associated Queues were deployed, with defined rules controlling the path of calls coming into the business during and outside office hours. Existing numbers were ported over with no downtime.

The Result

The outcome of this implementation was another satisfied customer, who didn’t experience any disruption from what would have been a problem for this particular business.

The Challenge

The client* contacted us about moving their head office location system. They wanted to migrate away from a managed office telephony and towards their own independent hosted cloud-based IP-PBX system. This particular client also wanted to roll out to their satellite office, and we were more than happy to get stuck into working on upgrading their system.

The Solution

We worked closely to understand their requirements and exactly what they wanted to be able to achieve through their new system. Once we were totally confident that we understood their business priorities we set to work on their customised solution.

We deployed a cloud IP-PBX system with over 50 handsets (based on several models) with free internal calls between their offices in London and the North East as well as slashing call costs worldwide. A digital receptionist and associated queues were also set out with defined rules controlling the path of calls coming into the business to make communication run smoothly.

A softphone was deployed for the receptionist to enable the full visibility of calls coming in and out of the business – including the status of the queues. This softphone was linked to a desk phone using the CTI functionality to enable integration. We also added a management layer for the receptionist, giving both additional visibility and management functionality.

The Result?

Our client was delighted with the value added to the business through their new hosted IP-PBX and handsets. The solution has given them a feature rich experience which has transformed their internal working system. Added functionality such as call queues has enhanced their ability to work as a team and provide a seamless communication experience.

IT Managed Services

The Challenge

We worked with this client* on their system migration. They wanted to make a move from a managed office telephony system to their own independently hosted cloud-based IP-PBX. This client came to us because downtime during their migration was simply not an option. We understood the importance of providing a quick and efficient service migration while ensuring their customers had a seamless experience throughout the migration.

The Solution

We worked with our client on a side by side set up to ensure the migration was smooth and easy. We delivered a fully managed, hosted IP-PBX, along with a rich set of features for their new set up.

The functionality set we put together included a digital receptionist which enables their system to answer phone calls automatically and present incoming callers with a menu of options. Now their customers can be directed effectively to where they want to go, for example: “For sales, press 1. For support, press 2. For customers services press 3 or wait to be transferred to the operator.”

We implemented fully automated call queues, call recording functionality as well as various management features such as ‘Barge in’ and ‘Whisper’ functionality. The barge feature now allows employees to jump into a call as a full participant while the whisper functionality means they can communicate without the customer hearing for a more professional service.

Softphones and Web Clients were deployed to all staff, some desk phones were also provisioned for home workers to bring all workers in line with the new communication set up.

The Result

Our client now enjoys a fully supported and managed cloud IP-PBX. Working closely with our client we were able to deliver them a rich set of features that were tailored to meet the needs of their service focused business type.

Staff can utilise telephony services on softphones, desk phones and also mobile devices from any location, meaning they are now a fully fledged flexible business. This has opened opportunities for remote and flexible working as well as increased communication for home workers.

As well as these functionalities, this client now has in-depth reporting delivered on their service queues, so SLA’s and service delivery can be a focus for the business leaders in making decisions moving forward about the company.

The Challenge

Having been let down by their current telephony provider during a system migration s3 Communications came to their rescue at the 11th hour.

The Solution

After engagement with the client and their IT partner, s3 Communications planned and implemented a full hosted PBX Instance for the client.

The feature set originally requested by the client was fully enabled and configured ready for use. Current handsets were utilised, saving time and money and the client’s SIP provision was also utilised.

A full test and handover to the client was carried out smoothly with no issues.
